PostgreSQL

PostgreSQL holds Platform’s shared data: organizations, and how people, schedules and modules relate to each other.

Part of our work

How we use it

Related data stays connected.

Staff, teams and schedules depend on each other. A relational model makes those links explicit, so the same information isn’t copied into every module.

Access rules live in the database.

Platform uses PostgreSQL through Supabase, with organization and access policies in the database itself. The interface hides what you can’t use, but it’s the database rules that actually protect shared records.

Every schema change is a migration.

Schema changes are written as migration files. That gives us a history we can review, and keeps new features in step with the data they need.
