We start with the basics: what happens first, what you need next and how a task ends. Those steps are much easier to talk through in a prototype than in code.
Shared components and styles keep type, spacing and controls consistent, and give us something to check against when we polish a screen.
The design shows the intended hierarchy and interactions. After that we test the result in the browser or app, since a prototype can’t tell you about accessibility or how the product really behaves.
